In times of autonomous warfare and job loss through African Intelligence ( A I ) I want to present a real alternative, that is already running and can be copied for being run by individuals.
Everything is based on a contract, which is enforced through a non profit association owned by the users.
In the workshop I want to list many problems of LLMs from different perspectives ( Waste of Ressources, Job loss, ties to military, ties to the attention industry ) within the first 5 minutes in fast forward. Such as my approach to solve them ( + 2 minutes )
Then the participants have to decide whether they want to focus on solving the problems by technical means or by communication means.
Depending on the participants, one group will concentrate on how to hack together an own, multiuser "ChatGPT" with my input among the participants - input regarding OffGPTs key security principle, the mathematical libraries, the interface. Depending on machines and unix level of the participants, I will see to solve the problems of the participants. The other ( and maybe the more important ) groups, deciding for comms means to democratize Tech starting with "AI", will work out together how a democratic association might be able to tackle the problems. Respectively what are the problems to start with, respectively how that could be achieved or communicated in most effective way. Then after hacking / discussing, the comm groups will present their findings, whereas the hacking people will hopefully have some more info in their local AI infra / in their wikis / docs or on their machines generally.
Studied Maths in Berlin, worked as a developer for years, then as an admin for years. Now trying to create an alternative to big surveillance tech.
